"In Another Digital User Cluster, Jennifer Spångerud explores agency in our use of the Web. The Web was once a space scripted by amateurs and the communities they formed; today it is a corporate space produced using ever-more complex coding environments.
Spångerud wants to reclaim the Web as a collaborative space, and along with a group of like-minded users, she experiments with producing simple spaces that can be written, adapted and inhabited. Viewers can interact with a number of the websites that the cluster have created. Spångerud collaborates with Anx Kupainen, m.ontr.eu/x, Kjell Håftén, Bompa Alvemark, Sandra Åkerberg, Letters, Jonathan Dewoon and Meaxylon"

Another Digital User Cluster är en interaktiv webbaserad installation. Den består av åtta datormöss kopplade till enkortsdatorer med skärmar i olika storlekar. Skärmarna är placerade på olika höjd i en stor box med en ovansida av glas. Besökarna kan interagera via datormössen.
Webben är en gemensam plats att existera och verka på. Jag har varit centrerad kring hur känslan och upplevelsen av platsen har förändrats och varför, samt hur vår roll som användare och kreatörer smidigt övergått till en roll som konsumenter. Jag vill se fler amatöranvändare engagera sig i att återta Webben.
I projektet Another Digital User Cluster utforskar jag hur vi använder oss av Webben i relation till vår förmåga att agera eller utöva makt. Webben som en gång var ett utrymme designat och skapats av amatörer är idag en plats för företag, där webben skapas med hjälp av alltmer komplexa kodningsmiljöer. I just det här verket har jag begränsat tillgången till de navigationsverktyg som vi är vana vid — tangentbordet, touch screens och konkreta instruktioner — till att här enbart bestå av hyperlänkar och musklick. Genom dessa kan besökaren röra sig, något sökande, mellan olika webbsidor som jag och åtta likasinnade användare har producerat.

Another Digital User Cluster is an interactive web-based installation. It consists of eight single-card computers with screens in different sizes, each connected with a computer mouse. The screens are placed at different heights in a box covered with glass.
The Web is a common place in which to exist and operate. I have been focused on how the conception and experience of the place has changed rapidly and why. I am concerned about how our roles as users and creators smoothly shifted into the roles of consumers. I want to see more amateur users engage in reclaiming the Web.
In the project Another Digital User Cluster, I explore agency in our use of the Web. The Web, once a space designed and created by amateurs; today a corporate space produced using ever-more complex coding environments. In this particular work, I have been limiting the access to the navigation tools we are used to —keyboards, touch screens and concrete instructions — to only consist of hyperlinks and mouse clicks. Through these, the visitor can move, somewhat searching, between the different websites that I have produced along with a group of like-minded users.
